Responsibilities

The Construction Worker I is expected to be actively involved in various aspects of construction, including:

  • Perform general labor tasks.
  • Operate hand and small power tools.
  • Assist journeymen in their daily tasks.
  • Handle pickup and deliveries of materials and equipment.
  • Work in compliance with all Corporate, Departmental, and Divisional safety programs and procedures, as well as WorkSafe BC regulations.
  • May be required to work within a confined space.
  • Assist in utility construction work such as sewer and water tie-ins, pipeline installation, underground chambers, etc. Apart from general tasks, the Construction Worker I may be involved in utility construction work such as sewer and water tie-ins, pipeline installation, and other underground chambers, showcasing the diverse skill set required.
  • Perform simple survey requirements.
