Key Responsibilities
Successful will perform the following tasks:
- Crop Cultivation
Your primary responsibility as a Farm Worker will be to cultivate organic produce in fields and greenhouses. This involves planting seeds, transplanting seedlings, and ensuring the overall health of the crops.
- Field Activities
Efficiency is key in farming, and you’ll serve as a model for volunteers, trainees, and co-workers by performing field activities effectively. This includes demonstrating the best practices for crop care.
- Customer Service
Interacting with the community is an essential aspect of this role. You’ll provide excellent customer service to CSA members, community garden participants, and visitors, fostering positive relationships.
- Specialized Tasks
Based on your aptitude and experience, you may be assigned to various specialized areas, such as indoor crop production, greenhouse maintenance, equipment operations, and more.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance
Safety is a priority at Ignatius Farm. You’ll be responsible for utilizing and maintaining tools, equipment, and structures safely, following provided training guidelines.
- Activity Logging
Maintaining detailed records of your farming activities is crucial. This helps in improving logistics and the overall efficiency of the farm’s operations.

Job Requirements
To thrive in this role, the ideal candidates must possess the following qualities:
- Demonstrated interest, knowledge, or experience in gardening, ecological farming, greenhouse work, field work, and the use of hand tools and equipment.
- Physical fitness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic math and customer service skills.
- Commitment to ecology, health and safety, collaborative teamwork, and community building.
- Assets (not mandatory but beneficial): Valid G class driver’s license, First Aid/CPR certification, and spreadsheet experience.
